Open Air is an instrumental collaboration between double bassist Keith Lowe (David Sylvian, Harold Budd, Brad) and keyboardist / producer Peter Chilvers (Brian Eno, Karl Hyde, Tim Bowness)
"This began with a video I posted on Facebook, improvising bass in my garden one morning, with the sound of birdsong, wind and running water around me. I woke the next morning with a message from Peter who had sampled and shaped it into a song with some beautiful additions. The rest of the EP came together like the opening of Russian dolls. Peter sampled and treated sounds from the first track to create a strangely alien soundscape which we both played over. He then created sampler instruments from my bass and cello parts and played the final track. This collaboration has been a very organic, easy, and enjoyable way of creating music."
